The band took part in the County Down Grand Orange Lodge’s annual Battle of the Boyne parade, which was held in Newtonards. The band started the day with a short parade around Millisle with LOL 1758 Millisle Jubille Heroes and then moved off to meet up with the main parade where thousands of specatators had lined the streets to watch as the parade weaved its way through the town. The band’s playing was a very high standard the hole day. The only down point was that our Drum Major could not finish the parade as he had taken unwell. After the parade the band went back to the Orange Hall in Millisle were we had our dinner and a few presentations were made. The Band’s Secretary was given a excellent portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the band were presented with a marvelous photograph of the band at last years parade.
